The AAA Texas reported today that there will be plenty of competition on the roads next week. 3.4 million Texans will hit the road to travel more than fifty miles over the Thanksgiving weekend, and almost all of them, 3.1 million, will be driving to their destination, 1200 WOAI news reports.
“For those who will be traveling by car or truck next week to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends, they’ll be paying lower gas prices than one year ago,” AAA’s Doug Shupe said.
The average price for gas in San Antonio today is $2.98, that’ sup a nickel over the past week, but 18 cents lower than what we were paying for gas at this time last year.
AAA says the number of people who will travel over Thanksgiving will be slightly less than 2012, due largely to ‘lingering economic concerns.’
