AGAIN! Two Dead in Wreck Caused by WRONG WAY DRIVER!

What in the world can this city do to stem the epidemic of deadly wrong-way drivers on our expressways?

Two people are dead after a man who had driven the wrong way on Interstate 35 for several miles slammed head on into a mini van on the Southwest Military Drive overpass about 11PM Tuesday night, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Police investigators tell 1200 WOAI news that the motorist, described as a man in his late forties, drove his red Chevy pick up truck northbound in the southbound lanes of I-35 from Loop 410, north past Zarzamora, and all the way to Southwest Military.

As he came over the Southwest Military overpass, the pickup clipped an 18 wheeler and then slammed head on into a minivan with two occupants.

The driver, a woman in her late thirties or early forties, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her passengers, a man in his late teens or early twenties, had to be cut out of the tangled wreckage of the minivan.  That took 15 minutes, and the man was rushed to San Antonio Area Medical Center with multiple injuries, and is listed in extremely critical condition.

The wrong way driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Toxicology tests will have to be performed, but police on the scene described beer cans 'scattered throughout the inside' of the wrong way driver's pickup.
