  Firefighters had to dodge '25 to 45 poisonous snakes' when fighting a fire at the Komodo House at the San Antonio Zoo this morning.

 

  Fire Department spokeswoman Deborah Foster says one komodo dragon didn’t survive and another 12 snakes are in serious condition due to smoke inhalation.

  Fire Department spokeswoman Deborah Foster says one komodo dragon didn’t survive and another 12 snakes are in serious condition due to smoke inhalation.

 

  The fire caused an estimated $75,000 damage. 

 

  A heating unit installed to keep the Komodo House, which is the former giraffe habitat at the zoo, is suspected in the fire.

 

  No firefighters were hurt.
