Developers Bert Koontz and Red McCombs say they plan to build an extremely high end apartment complex on what is one of the prime undeveloped tracts of land in the city.
The 'CityVista,' a 141 unit complex with rents of up to $3,000 a month, will go up at 647 Hildebrand, next to the water tower right across from Trinity University.
"CityVista will be a jewel box development," Bart Koontz, President and DEO of Koontz McCombs Development. "It will include a luxury clubhouse, recreation and fitness facilities, and multiple courtyard areas including a really spectacular rooftop area featuring an amazing view of the city."
The property, adjacent to the University of the Incarnate Word and Incarnate Word High School and next to US 281, is at one of the highest points in the city, which Koontz says will mean a prime location.
He says the five story building will be designed to blend into the environment, with a brick and stucco exterior and direct-access first flood parking.
"We see a market for this as San Antonio is attracting more young professionals who want to live in the city where they work and play, but don't necessarily want to make a home purchasing decision yet," Koontz said.
Groundbreaking is set for July, with the completing date of December of 2014, Koontz said.
