This gives an entirely new meaning to the term 'Black Friday.'  The day after Thanksgiving, you see, is the busiest day of the year for plumbers.

Phil Abrams of Roto Rooter says his crews run from house to house all day Friday, as Thanksgiving dinner comes back to haunt homeowners.

"People put things like potato peels and rice and turkey skins and grease and other things get down into both the disposal and the kitchen drain and cause clogs," he told 1200 WOAI news.

Abrams says he tells families all year long, when Thanksgiving rolls NOT pour the turkey grease down the drain.

"The most common problem that we see is a clogged kitchen sink drain and a jammed up garbage disposal," he said.  "The grease solidifies and the pipes no longer will drain water away.  That's usually the biggest issue."

He says someday, people will start listening to him and will deposit the turkey grease and turkey skin elsewhere.  Until then, he'll keep counting his profits because, like retailers, the day after Christmas is when he makes his profits, too.
