Former Bexar County Commissioner and veteran San Antonio businessman has picked up perhaps the most important endorsement in the hotly contested District 25 State Senate Republican primary...from State Rep. Lyle Larson.
The former City Councilman and Bexar County Commissioner is often referred to as Bexar County's 'Mister Republican' and he is the senior Republican in Bexar County's Legislative delegation.
"Mike Novak and earned by respect and vote for the State Senate," Larson said. "While we served together on commissioners court he led the charge to cut taxes and solve problems."
Larson has made no secret of his frustration with incumbent State Sen. Donna Campbell (R-New Braunfels), once going so far to say he doesn't think 'she understands' the key issues facing San Antonio. He blasted Campbell for voting against the proposal to redevelop Hemisfair Park.
Also in the race is former City Council members Elisa Chan.
The Republican primary is tantamount to election in the overwhelmingly Republican district. About two thirds of the district's population is in Bexar County.
