Chief: Examining Possible Link Between Double Murder, Killing on NW Side
Posted Thursday, August 28th 2014 @ 4pm

The body of a 19 year old man who was reported missing late last night was found today on the city's northwest side, and police are investigating to see if this death is related to the execution style murders of two people in an apartment near Lackland Air Force Base earlier today, Newsradio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police Chief William McManus says the teenager was reported missing about 1AM today, and this morning his family organized a search party for him.

The body was found near Culebra and Old Grissom Road on the northwest side.

"They teamed up to form a search party, they walked along the trail behind me, and they found the young man just off the side of the trail," McManus said.

McManus says the body was 'in clear sight.'

"It appears that he suffered a gunshot wound," he said.  "The body hasn't been there very long.  We're not 100% positive of the motive yet."

McManus also revealed that detectives are investigating a possible connection between this murder and the murders of a man and a woman on Suzette Street earlier today.

"We're seeing if there is any link between these two," McManus said.  "It may be connected, we're not sure, we're looking into it."

Two masked men burst into the apartment about 4AM and opened fire.  A man and a woman who were in a bedroom were riddled with bullets and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The gunmen left in separate vehicles.  One SUV which was found on fire about three blocks away may be connected to the murders.
