State Senator and Democratic governor candidate Wendy Davis underwent successful outpatient neck surgery at a clinic in her home town of Ft. Worth, the Davis campaign tells 1200 WOAI news.

“Senator Davis’ surgery was a success, she is resting comfortably and will be spending the night at home,” the campaign said.  “She is grateful to those who expressed their well wishes and looks forward to seeing friends back on the campaign trail following a short break after the Easter holiday.”

Davis, 50, has been suffering from neck and back pain that was diagnosed as bone spurs and degenerative discs that were creating compression on the nerves in her neck, a condition common to runners.
