Two people are dead following a high speed single vehicle crash on the upper level of Interstate 10 just north of downtown, Newsradio 1200 WOAI's Morgan Montalvo reports.
It happened about 2AM. Police say a car was going westbound on the upper level when the driver lost control and slammed into a retaining wall.
The car flipped over three times in the roadway. Both the driver and the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say when the car was disabled, another vehicle took no evasive action and slammed into it.
The driver of that vehicle, identified as Manuel Martinez-Chavirria, 29, is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
. Bond was set at $60,000.
Police arent sure what caused the vehicle to spin out of control.
