Democratic candidate for governor Wendy Davis will undergo outpatient surgery tomorrow to correct shoulder and neck pain caused by a runner's injury, 1200 WOAI news reports.

Davis, 50, will undergo a procedure to remove bone spurs and degenerative discs that are creating compression on the nerves in her neck.

They say its a condition common to 'runners and endurance athletes.'

The surgery will be performed by a physician in Davis' home town of Ft. Worth.

Her campaign says Davis will relax the rest of the week, spend Easter weekend with her family, and plans to be back on the campaign trail on Monday.
