Winter Storm Warning CANCELLED for Metro SA
Posted Tuesday, March 4th 2014 @ 4am  by Jim Forsyth

  So much for 'thunder sleet!'

That terrifying prospect has failed to materialize, at least so far, and the Winter Weather Warning which had been in place for metro San Antonio has been cancelled.

A Winter Storm Advisory until 9AM has taken its place.  Forecasters are warning of the possibility of slick spots on area roads, and says 'freezing rain and sleet may accumulate on roadways, especially elevated roads such as bridges and overpasses.

Only a handful of school announcements this morning...sorry kids!

Comal ISD 2 hour delay

Blanco ISD 10 a.m.

Texas State University 11 a.m.

Excel Learning Center  10 a.m.

Bracken Christian Schools CLOSED

The situation will be worse to the north of San Antonio, where the Winter Storm Warning continues in place.

The Austin and Hill Country areas are facing the possibility of freezing rain and sleet through 9AM.
