The Texans played it "safe" with their selection of Jadeveon Clowney (quotation marks because there's no such thing as a sure thing in the Draft). But I cannot understand why some fans say it was the "smart" pick.
In a state dominated by the Cowboys, the Texans had their chance to change the demographics. They could have done it by picking a quarterback for their team that NEEDED a quarterback. Especially if that QB is Manziel. So is that "smart?"
What kind of impact does Johnny Football have? From ESPN:
Browns team president Alec Scheiner told ESPN.com on Friday that, in the time since Manziel was selected, the team sold more than 2,000 season tickets.
2000! And that's in a state with no Aggies fans.
Oh well. Back to second banana and game-ending blackouts on KENS5.
