San Antonio FC Announces Defender Ebenezer Ackon

San Antonio FC announced their second new signing in two days with the addition of Defender Ebenezer Ackon on Friday afternoon. Ackon was drafted by the Chicago Fire in this year's MLS Super Draft last month. He was selected in the Third Round; 53rd overall, but he will play his football in the Alamo City in 2019. Ackon spent the last two years playing college soccer at Bowling Green University in Ohio. The 5' 11" Defender originates from Ghana.

Ackon noted his excitement via a team press release, saying “This is a great feeling. Ever since I got to the United States, I’ve dreamed of completing my education and becoming a professional soccer player, so being here is a dream come true. I’m starting my pro career here and I think San Antonio FC is the best place for me to be.”

The addition of the twenty two year old Ackon puts the SAFC roster at 21 players.

San Antonio FC was set to begin their 2019 Pre Season schedule Saturday morning at Toyota Field against University of the Incarnate Word, but that match has been cancelled. The match was not set to be open to the public. The next scheduled Pre-Season match for the team is February 9th in Frisco, Texas vs FC Dallas of Major League Soccer.
