Report: Cowboys Owner Told Players He Wanted To Take Heat Off Them

Jones

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reportedly told players he issued his stand-for-the-national-anthem-or-don't-play order to take pressure off them.  ESPN reports Jones met with players yesterday and told them he wanted to play the bad guy and deflect attention away from them.  Most players didn't talk to reporters after the meeting.  Starting quarterback Dak Prescott said the meeting went well and that the players and Jones ironed out everything they needed to at this time.  Jones said after Sunday's game in Green Bay that anyone who disrespects the flag won't play.
