You cannot go wrong with a hearty BBQ sandwich! Especially as warmer weather approaches and the thought of a nice Spring picnic is reintroduced into the thoughts of Americans living in cities that have endured the harshness of winter for far too long.
While there are a handful of restaurants scattered across Texas that serve this delicious meal, only one is known for crafting the best BBQ around. This state staple is often praised for using high quality ingredients to carefully craft the most mouthwatering BBQ in Texas. And don't even get us started on their sides!
According to a list compiled by Food & Wine, the best place to order a BBQ sandwich in Texas is Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor. Other Texas staple BBQ joints that made the list include Goldee's BBQ in Fort Worth and 2M Smokehouse in San Antonio.
Here's what Food & Wine had to say about the best place to enjoy BBQ in the entire state:
"Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor ought to be right at the top of your list; how you could ever walk into this barely converted gymnasium and not leave forever impressed is a mystery. Third-generation owner Wayne Mueller's lion-level status in the industry leaves plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable, but you'll nearly always find one of the country's great brisket palaces running like a tight ship —simple, honest, classic, essentially perfect."
