The Memorial Service to celebrate the life of longtime San Antonio Express-News reporter William “Tim” Griffin will be held at 2pm on Sunday August 7, 2022, at the Alamodome in the Hall of Fame Club Room.
Griffin, who had worked as a sports reporter for the San Antonio Express-News for over 25-years, passed away on July 8th after a bout with cancer. He had most recently worked with the Corpus Christi Caller-Times. Over the span of his career, he was a correspondent for ESPN.com, served as the president of the Football Writers Association of America and was also a voter in the Associated Press football and basketball polls.
Memorial donations are asked to be made to a Go Fund Me account or to M. D. Anderson for research to “kick cancer’s ass” as Tim would say.
