Monday on 2 PROS & A CUP OF JOE, Jonas Knox and Brady Quinn discuss the recent critique of Shedeur Sanders patting the ball, and Brady explains why this is really overblown.
Brady Quinn: "Patting the football, to me, has always actually been a sign of a guy who's calm and really in rhythm. One, he's got time in the pocket, and two, he's going through his progressions. He's not patting trying to throw to the same guy. He's probably patting as he's kind of going through each guy he's supposed to be throwing to in the progression that might not be open.
So this is one of those things that you could take any clip from any quarterback at any point in time, and you will see them pat the football...
I'd be more concerned about how the ball was coming off his hand than anything else. The patting of the football is most overblown thing."
