San Antonio FC Announces Fenwick, Maguraushe

San Antonio FC wrapped up their busiest week of signing announcements so far this year by adding two more players on Friday January 18th, both with North Carolina ties. SAFC added Defender Johnny Fenwick and Midfielder Leeroy Maguraushe.

The 24 year old Fenwick joins SAFC after a stint with Des Moines Menace where he played under new SAFC Assistant Coach Alen Marcina. This is the second player with Menace ties to be signed this off-season (Viscosi). It seems dividends of hiring the former San Antonio Scorpions (NASL) manager are already paying off. Fans may also recall that SAFC played the Menace in the 2016 US Open Cup.

Most recently Fenwick was named the 2018 Big South Defender of the Year while playing at High Point University in North Carolina. Fenwick expressed his gratitude on Twitter:

Maguraushe comes to SAFC after wrapping up his collegiate career with the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. The 23 year old finished his college career with 13 goals and 14 assists. Maguraushe had this to say about his signing via a SAFC Press Release:

“I would like to thank San Antonio FC and Darren Powell for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Playing professionally has always been something I dreamt of, but this is just the beginning. I can’t wait to get to the city and start preparing for the upcoming season.”

After a very busy week of signings, that brings the SAFC Roster to 17 players.

Be sure to leave us a comment with your thoughts on these two new signings!
