The signings are coming fast and furious for SAFC as the preseason is swiftly approaching. San Antonio FC announced their fourth player of the week on January 17th – Goalkeeper Jonathan Viscosi. Viscosi’s playing background includes Finland and England and clubs such as Chester FC, Southport FC and Turun Palloseura. In his two seasons with TPS he recorded 25 total shut outs.
The 27 year-old is looking forward to getting to San Antonio, saying in a team press release, “I’m really excited to come in and be a part of that vision. I am looking forward to arriving and seeing everything first-hand, and most of all meeting the boys and getting to work on the training ground in preparation for the season ahead.”
The team put out a highlight reel of Viscosi in action:
Time will tell if this signing is meant to be a challenge to incumbent GK Matt Cardone or if he is in the plans as a backup. We’ll start to get those answers on February 2nd when the 2019 pre-season opens for SAFC.
The San Antonio FC roster now stands at 15 players.
