Former Midfielder Roushandel Named SAFC Ast Coach

Former San Antonio FC Midfielder and captain Ryan Roushandel was announced today as an assistant coach for the team in 2019. With his promotion to the coaching ranks, SAFC also announced an expanded role for Roushandel in the SAFC Pro Academy as a Talent Identification Coordinator.

Said Roushandel via a team press release, “I am excited to continue to grow in my soccer career while representing this club and city. I am so grateful to the coaching staff and front office for this opportunity and the ability to continue working with our wonderful Pro Academy. I can’t wait to continue work with our players to achieve our goals this season.”

Roushandel was named team Captain prior to the 2018 season and the 33 year old concludes his SAFC playing career with 37 appearances, 2 assists, and one very memorable playoff clinching goal. It was easily one of the most memorable goals & subsequent celebrations in SAFC history, finishing it off by celebrating with his Academy players. Re-live that special moment right here:
