San Antonio FC Parts Ways With Manager Darren Powell

For the first time since their inaugural season of 2016, San Antonio FC will have a new Manager when the next campaign begins. San Antonio FC announced on Wednesday that the team and Manager and Technical Director Darren Powell have mutually agreed to part ways. Thus ends the tenure of the only Manager San Antonio FC has ever known to this point.

Said Managing Director Tim Holt, “We are grateful for all of Darren’s hard work over the past four seasons, and the passion and class with which he has served San Antonio FC and our city. Our focus now shifts to identifying and appointing a new leader to guide the next phase of our club’s sporting development and performance.”

Powell compiled a 59-39-44 (W-D-L) record in all competitions in his time with SAFC. In his four years leading the team, SAFC only qualified for the playoffs one time, winning one playoff game. The team narrowly missed out on the playoffs the last two seasons which no doubt played a large factor in both sides desiring a change.

In a social media post, Powell thanked many people for his "wonderful four years at SAFC." Here is a link to the full post:
