San Antonio FC (2-0-0, 6 points) remained perfect on the young 2022 season with a 2-1 victory over Los Angeles Galaxy II (0-0-2, 0 points) on Saturday night in Southern California. SAFC Defender Mitchell Taintor scored a second half header from a set piece to separate the teams and ultimately win the match. Both teams had second half red cards as the game finished 10 vs 10. LA's Adrian Gonzalez was sent off with a second yellow card in the 52'. Just three minutes later SAFC's Elliot Collier was shown a straight red after a dust up in the San Antonio box. It was the first road match of the season for SAFC.
David Loera scored for San Antonio FC in the 10th minute of the match, while Harvey netted for Los Angeles in the 30th minute to keep the game level at the break, 1-1.
San Antonio FC were aggressive all game long, racking up eight Offside calls in the match. However it was Los Angeles who dominated the offensive stat sheet. They led the way in Possession (60% - 40%) shots (22-10) and in Corner Kicks (12-4).
Next up for SAFC is another road match against South Texas rivals RGV-FC next Sunday night. SAFC returns home on April 2nd against Phoenix Rising FC.
