Colin Cowherd: Taysom Hill is the Future of the NFL Quarterback Position

Colin Cowherd: “In 2020 I look at Taysom Hill and think he’s got Sean Payton as his coach, he’s got a great GM, Brady, Matt Ryan, and Teddy Bridgewater are in his division and one of those guys is gonna be out of football soon. I think he’s a gadget guy but the world has changed. Why not? The winners in life adapt, and the losers going forward are stubborn and rigid. Maybe this is the future of the NFL. Hill is an unbelievable athlete. He can catch, he can run, he can block -- you just put your best athlete at quarterback and you figure out later. People say he hasn’t thrown a lot of passes in the NFL, but neither did Lamar Jackson when he won a bunch of games and got to the playoffs. No rookies have passes in the NFL until they get into the NFL… I know Hill can pass because Sean Payton is his coach, and Sean Payton likes him, and sees him pass in practice… Lamar Jackson came into this league with passing questions and he’s the MVP.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he has faith in Saints gadget player Taysom Hill becoming the starting quarterback in New Orleans when Drew Brees retires, just days after Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said he believes Saints head coach Sean Payton’s plan is to replace Brees with Hill down the road, instead of Jameis Winston.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he never would have thought this a few years ago, but says the NFL is evolving so quickly that teams may just start putting their best athlete at quarterback and figuring it out from there, no matter how natural they would be at other skill positions.
