Verlander, Astros Beat Rangers

Justin Verlander struck out eight over seven frames as the Astros beat the Rangers 3-2 in Arlington. The veteran right-hander allowed four hits and one run as he improved to 2-and-1 on the mound. Rafael Montero notched his first save for Houston, which improved to 10-and-9. Kyle Tucker hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning. Matt Bush suffered the loss in relief for Texas, which dropped to 6-and-13. Corey Seager launched his second home run of the year in the losing effort.
