The Longhorns are being included in the preseason USA Today coaches poll. Texas opened the year ranked 18th overall and Houston also made the rankings at Number-25. Baylor was ranked 10th overall and Texas A&M sits seventh. Alabama opens the season as the number one team in the nation after receiving 54 of 66 first place votes. Ohio State is ranked second and reigning national champion Georgia is ranked third.
