Shoutout to the Women's NCAA Tournament

Former dual Texas Longhorn Athlete Nell Fortner is heading to the Sweet 16. She is currently the Head Coach of the women's basketball program at Georgia Tech. Tech came in as a 5 seed for the tournament and will play number 1 seed South Carolina in the coveted Sweet 16 round in San Antonio.

The women's play on the court has been fantastic this March, but the huge story so far has been the disparities between the men's and women's NCAA tournament. Although coach Fortner and her team are still in the SA bubble as their tourney journey continues she posted a "Thank You" note on her Twitter page directed at the NCAA.

I think the note speaks for itself.

More Fans in the Stands?

The Miami Heat have a plan in place to seperate fans in the arena who have been vaccinated and those who have not. Beginning April 1st, if your party has had both COVID Vaccines (and has had so for at least 14 days) you will have the ability to sit in one of two sections that are designated for those with the shots.

Within these two sections social distancing will be relaxed with just one seat separating each party. Those with tickets to these sections will have their own entrance. With more teams possibly using this model in the near future the NBA is encouraging teams to also provide vaccinated only bathrooms and concession stands to help limit the interaction between those who have had both shots and those who have not.

While more and more vaccinations are becoming available I would imagine that the vaccinated sections will soon turn into three, four and five sections relatively quickly. It is interesting to note however that the vaccine is currently only for adults. This meaning, that at the moment, families who wish to attend the games together won't be allowed into the "safer" section of the arena.

It does not surprise me that the Miami Heat are implementing these measures. They were one of the first teams to start letting fans back into the arena this year with the help of COVID sniffing K-9. Now we wait and see what teams will follow.

#Shrimpgate

2021 has so far been a strange year as we navigate our way out of this global pandemic. Things got weirder this week when Jensen Karp, a writer and husband to Danielle Fishel (aka Topanga from "Boy Meets World"), posted a photo of what he found inside his box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

You'd think the good folks at Cinnamon Toast Crunch would be apologizing profusely and working hard on a solution. But no, instead they said...it's just sugar.

The cereal war has been quite the story as Mr. Karp has kept his Twitter followers up to date with the way General Mills has handled the problem, how he is moving forward and what else he ended up finding in that cereal. America is now awaiting the lab results that will, in my opinion, confirm that there were shrimp tails within that box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
