Kevin James is Sean Payton
Sean Payton was suspended from the NFL in 2012 following "Bountygate." During that time, he coached his then 6th grade son's football team. This time of coach Payton's life now has a script and will ultimately become a Netflix film titled "Home Team" starring Kevin James as Sean Payton. The Internet's immediate reaction was not kind to Mr. James with most calling out his looks and athleticism, or lack there-of in comparison to Payton. Personally, I don't think those reactions are just. From what I've seen of Kevin James, "King of Queens," "Paul Blart Mall Cop" and most recently "The Crew" on Netflix he is a talented comedic actor. Thus, I'm picturing this movie to be something along the lines of Will Ferrell's "Kicking a Screaming." Basically to say, a lot of liberties will probably be taken with this film and Sean Payton's story is merely a loose outline. Will you check out "Home Team" on Netflix when it drops?
Trevor Lawrence Gets a Toaster
Trevor Lawrence got married this past weekend in front of family and friends ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft. It is almost guaranteed that he will be heading to Jacksonville to be the starting QB for Meyer and the Jaguars. One Jaguars fan by the name of Eric Dillard wanted to congratulate Trevor on his nuptials by sending him a gift. Mr. Dillard found the Lawrence registry on the Internet and set out to buy a $300 toaster with the help of other #DUUUVAL fans who were willing to donate. To Eric's surprise, he received around $3,000 in donations. This allowed him to purchase the toaster for Trevor and wife. Eric is now attempting to reach Trevor's team so the remaining amount can be donated to the charity of Trevor's choosing. You love to see it.
Charles Barkley on MNF
Charles Barkley appeared on the Jim Brockmire podcast to talk about his career, twitter trolls and Shaq products. While discussing Twitter trolls, the former NBA star revealed the fact that ESPN once reached out to him about being part of Monday Night Football saying, "I like football. but I ain't gonna be one of these jackasses, get on TV, and act like he know about football." Fans of the CDS show know that Chris and I both adore Barkley and think that he does an amazing job on TNT. He does such a great job it's hard to picture him anywhere else talking sports. With that being said, I wouldn't mind seeing him do a one-off on MNF. The Monday Night Football broadcasts have been struggling with lack of personality. They are hoping to land the next Tony Romo but keep falling short. A guest appearance by Charles Barkley sounds oddly refreshing to me, even if he don't know anything about football.
