Bill Schoening, the longtime radio voice of the San Antonio Spurs, will be inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2022. Schoening made the announcement on his Facebook page...

"From the time I was 10 years old, broadcasting sports on the radio was all I ever really wanted to do. Last night I received official word that I’ll be inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame, Class of 2022. I’m truly humbled by this honor and want to thank my fellow broadcasters for the nomination and election. I’ve spent 42 years on the air in the Lone Star State and have had the chance to call four different sports at various levels (high school, small college, major college, pros). I’ve been truly blessed on this journey and my heart is full of gratitude today."

Schoening will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony in November.

In October, he will begin his 22nd year as the “Voice of the Spurs.”
