Biden Drops Out, Endorses VP Kamala Harris as Dem Nominee

President Joe Biden released a statement on Sunday afternoon revealing that he is stepping out of the Presidential race and will not seek reelection. Minutes later, Biden released an additional statement saying that he endorses Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic party nominee.

Biden senior staffers and even Vice President Kamala Harris were not informed about this decision until earlier on Sunday.

Even with Biden's endorsement of Harris, this does not mean that she will automatically become the nominee. While many prominent Democrats, including Bill and Hillary Clinton and others have quickly endorsed Harris, there is still a chance that dissenting Democrats can lobby for a different nominee.

Stay tuned to NewsRadio 1200 WOAI for the latest developments and join San Antonio's First News on Monday morning as Charity McCurdy, Randy Beamer and I speak with national correspondents and political experts about what's next for Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic party.
